For dogs
- Neck circumference: measure where the collar usually sits
- Back length: from the base of the neck to the base of the tail (useful for coats and harnesses)
- Weight: essential for dispensers, baskets and beds
For cats
- Neck circumference: for collars, always leave 2 fingers between the collar and the neck
- Total length: from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail, to choose suitable baskets and beds
